What are commercial videos?

These are really short marketing videos typically 15 to 30 seconds with a strong call-to-action. They can be used for promoting your company’s products or creating brand recall. These animated advertising videos normally don’t dive too deep into details, you can think of them as teasers for your explainer videos. It is meant to grab eyeballs and get the audience excited about your products and services. The video objective here is sometimes brand awareness and in some cases, brand recall. The idea is to create a story gap to generate more quality traffic for your landing pages that converts faster. The animation styles extensively used for animated advertising videos are mixed media animation and frame by frame animation.

When and how to use animated commercial videos effectively?

Animated commercial ads are used for building awareness top-of-the-funnel most of the times but its best application lies in creating strong brand recall as well. Commercial videos are used for remarketing campaigns to generate the best ROI in terms of brand recall. These videos help to nurture prospective customers and enable your sales team. It helps to push them forward in the customer lifecycle with increased sales velocity. They are effectively used to pique interest and generate traffic for your landing pages. Animated advertising videos generally 15-30 seconds can also be extracted from longer versions of b2b product explainer videos. They are extensively used for youtube pre-roll ads, facebook video ads, linkedin video ads and as animated tv commercials to drive traffic to your campaign pages.

What is our video commercial production cost, process and timelines?

The cost of animation services for 2d commercial videos varies from $3000 to $10,000 and $8000 to $25,000 for 3d commercial videos. There are majorly four steps involved in our process:

  • Writing a Script: The first task that needs to be done for your commercial video production is to write an awesome script. It is one of the most crucial steps in the process since it builds the foundation your video would build on. Clueless about how you would go about writing the script? Read our blog to learn how to make a script for your video! This step is normally taken care of by the story lead (scriptwriter) and is overseen by the creative director concept artist (creative director).

  • Making the Storyboard: Once you have the script ready, you would need to work on making a storyboard. Our animation advertising agency specializes in storyboarding which is like a blueprint of the video which acts as a representation of what the video would entail. It is made of black and white sketches organized in the sequence in which the scenes would appear in the video. The creative director is responsible for this step.
  • Creating the Graphics: Now that you know what every scene would look like, it is time for you to go ahead and create the graphics accordingly. It is in this phase that various elements of the video such as colors, fonts, focus elements are decided. This step is taken care of by the art director. The creative director works closely with them to ensure that everything goes according to the concept.

  • Animating Everything with Voiceover: With the visuals done, you can now work on your commercial animation down to perfection. While you’re at it, insert the background music and composite all of it. If the video requires a voice-over, that too is added in this stage. This task is done by the animation director with the creative director ensuring that the video remains true to the concept that was approved by the client.

It generally takes around 4-6 weeks for our animation advertising agency to complete the entire production process but there are some factors which might impact the same drastically. There are four different factors which affect the cost and delivery of your custom animation video. The most important factor is your animation technique for the video, then complexity of your content topic in the pre-production stages, followed by duration of your video and finally the feedback time.

How McAfee used our Animated Advertising Videos to rebrand and showcase solutions?

The Problem:

McAfee is largely perceived as an antivirus company. However, the company does a lot more than that—it offers a complete cybersecurity portfolio. Moreover, the company wanted to show how its products, services, and open ecosystem help employees and organizations beyond antiviruses. The company wanted to change the perception that people had by showcasing the innovation it is bringing to the table. They wanted to rebrand themselves.

The Solution

We used a mix-media approach for this. By combining rotoscopy with live-action footage, we created an impactful animated commercial videos for the client. What makes the video so good is the simplicity the visuals present. The video is clean and minimalist which leaves a lasting impact on the viewers.

How Menchie's used our Animated Advertising Videos to promote a new product?

Problem:

Frozen Yoghurt had released fro-yo cakes which you could customize to have Peppa Pig's face on. You could also have your face made on the cake. The fro-yo cakes Frozen Yoghurt made already came with a lot of options for toppings and had multiple flavors with top-notch ingredients. The ability to add your face (or Peppa Pig's face) on your cake was certainly a cherry on the top.

However, that wasn't the only problem. The company had many options and they wanted to feature most, if not all of them in the video.

Solution:

Since a lot of resources pertaining to Peppa Pig were unavailable to be used in the commercial, we had to find a way to show the fact that you could get Peppa Pig's face made on your cake—without using Peppa Pig's voice in the video. So we made a video which had a captivating voiceover introducing the features.

For the other problem, we created a magical, mystical Menchies Land which allowed us to feature everything in an interesting manner which appealed to the target audience.

How Capital Blue Cross Used Our Animated Advertising Videos to Promote an Event?

Problem:

Capital Blue Cross was giving out tickets to elderly people to visit Hershey Park with their grandchildren. For this, they had a landing page. They needed the viewers of the video to go to the landing page after watching the video and fill out a form in order to participate in the contest.

Solution:

We created just the right video for them. The video had two characters—a grandchild and a grandfather—interacting with each other. These characters made the video relatable and made the video the perfect ad for Capital Blue Cross' campaign.
